Thy Kingdom Come #BigAlpha

As part of the Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture launched in May 2017 we have been pausing on a Saturday morning and asking, seeking and knocking on heaven’s door.

Today, as 2018 starts and autumn will see Big Alpha at LK, we are encouraged to find a place and space and pause in prayer with the Living God….and offer ourselves to His Kingdom service and the opportunity to bring others to Jesus – even before autumn.

Oh LORD God at this time of the year we pause in Your presence.
We acknowledge Your Kingdom reign in our lives and offer ourselves as living sacrifices to Your service.
We ask You to take us and fill us and use us so that others may meet with Jesus and have lives changed by Your Holy Spirit. 
We ask these things in Jesus’ name,  Amen.

Daily Devotions for Saturday 6th January, 2018

Morning

Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus.

Reading : PSALM 23

Meditation : take time to consider these familiar words afresh this Saturday morning.

What images or words stay with you?
What is God saying to you today from His Word? 

Pray in response to Him…our Good Shepherd

 Oh God,
Our God,
Thank you for what we read
And all you promise here.
Hear our prayers
And guide us this day we ask

In Jesus’ name – Amen.

Midday

Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer
(See Matthew 6 or online under the Prayer tab on LK website)

Father God of grace and mercy, hear our prayers. 

Evening

Reading : read these verses again

Reflect prayerfully on the words and images ….. and then Pray in response
Especially for others who feel lost, in need of being restored or going through a dark valley

Spirit of the Living God, hear our evening prayers at the end of this day
And be with those we name before you.
In Jesus’ saving name, Amen.

O LORD God, have mercy on this group and hear our prayers.

Reflect ….and then pray…..for others in need known to you

O Lord, hear our various prayers at this evening hour
And bless each and all we ask, in Jesus’ name,   Amen.
