Morning

Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the LORD God, the Eternal One

Reading : 2 CORINTHIANS 2 vs 12 – ch.3 verse 6

Meditation : take time to carefully consider these verses.

Look again at verses 14-17. What is God saying to you today?

What is your response to Him?

Pray in response – to what God has said here.

LORD God,
Father God,
Oh help me smell of Jesus today!
Oh make us a people who bring others to Jesus!
Oh may the message of Christ be spread in our city!

In Jesus’ name,   Amen.

Midday

Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer
(See in Matthew 6 or online under the Prayer tab on LK website)

God of grace and mercy…and hope, hear our prayers. 

Evening

Reading : read the verses again from 2 Corinthians

Reflect on their meaning for you and pray in response…to the God of truth and grace

O Living and True God, hear our evening prayers
Shine Jesus shine! Blaze Spirit blaze!

Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit, on this Sunday

Reading : 2 CORINTHIANS 2 vs 5-11 

Meditation : take time to consider these words as your Sunday starts.

What is God saying to you today from his Word about forgiveness and victory in Christ?

Look again at verses 7 and 8 this morning as you turn to God in prayer.

Pray in response to what you have read and considered 

O LORD God,
Thank You
Thank You
For Your forgiveness
And victory
In Christ Jesus.
Oh help me not to judge
But to love and comfort.

In Jesus’ name.
Amen.

Pray for the Church in SE Edinburgh to know Sunday blessings

O LORD God, hear and answer our prayers.
In Jesus’ name we ask, Amen.

Evening

Reading : read the set verses again as your day ends

Reflect on the truths beyond the words and then Pray to our God …

O Father, Son and Holy Spirit, hear our evening prayers
As we return our thanks to you for the blessings of this day
And ask again for your forgiveness for the sins of this day.

They Kingdom Come #Help

As part of the follow-up to the Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture last year across the world, we pause as God’s people this weekend and consider the theme again of #help

Take a few minutes now – or when you are practically able -with God,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit- and bring Him your weekend prayers for Help – for yourself and for others.

Help me when and where I ask you now.

Help those I name before you.

At work, rest and play.

Pray God’s blessing on the suffering nation of Syria

O LORD God, have mercy on all who live and rule there and hear our prayers.  

Evening

Reflect on the words and images ….. and then Pray in response
Especially for others who feel lost, in need of guidance

Spirit of the Living God, hear our evening prayers at the end of this day
And be with those we name before you.

Praying to experience the mercy and comfort of our God today.

Praying with praise and thanks to this God of ours.

Hear our morning prayers.

Pray God’s blessing on those who rule in Iraq.

O LORD God, have mercy on this group and hear our prayers.

Reflect ….and then pray…..for others in need known to you

O Lord, hear our various prayers at this evening hour
And bless each and all we ask, in Jesus’ name,   Amen.
