You are asked to pray for the Church and our Country this week
During this particular week the Church of Scotland has invited us all to pray together for our Church and our Country
Amen we say together with others
Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Father God
Reading : PSALM 117
Meditation : take time and consider this very short psalm this morning.
Is this your God?
Is this your prayer this morning?
And then pray in response – as your day starts
‘Praise the LORD, all nations!
Praise him, all peoples!
His love for us is strong
And his faithfulness is eternal.
Praise the LORD!’
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those who walk the cemetery land
And those who use the Pathway of Peace at this time
Father God…hear our prayers and bless them each and all we ask.
Evening
Reading : read this very short passage again from PSALM 117
Reflect on the words of praise at the end of your day
and Pray in response to God – our God of love and faithfulness
O LORD, hear our evening prayers
As we return our thanks to you
For those you have shown compassion to
Even today
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Father God
Reading : PSALM 107 verses 1-3
Meditation : take time and consider what is said here – as your day starts.
In praise of God’s goodness.
‘Give thanks to the LORD because He us good’
‘He has rescued you from your enemies’
What are you thankful to God for today?
What has He rescued you from in your life?
And then pray in response as your day starts
‘Give thanks with a grateful heart’
In Jesus’ name.
Amen.
Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those work in the NHS
O LORD, hear our prayers and pour out a blessing we ask on each and all
Evening
Reading : read the verses again from PSALM 107
Reflect on these words again at the end of your day
and Pray in response to this God of ours, the LORD who is so good.
O LORD God,
Our God
We bring our sacrifice of praise
And thanksgiving
As this day closes
And we step into tomorrow
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!
Worship the Lord with gladness.
Come before him, singing with joy.
Acknowledge that the Lord is God!
He made us, and we are his.
We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
go into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good.
His unfailing love continues forever,
and his faithfulness continues to each generation
Together we say Amen!
