Thy Kingdom Come #celebrate

As a Church we took part in the global prayer venture of Thy Kingdom Come earlier this year.
This ran during the 11 days between Ascension and Pentecost….many weeks and months ago now!

Each Saturday at 12 noon we are continuing to ask and seek and knock on Heaven’s door…..’Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done’…..and to pray for up to 5 people we know to meet with Jesus and to experience God’s Kingdom reign in their lives.

This week we focus on the theme of CELEBRATE as we pause to pray with others.

It may seem a strange thing to do at this time but we are invited to spend time with the LORD our God….bringing our prayers of celebration and praise to Him at this time. You may find it helpful to read PSALMS 146 and 149 as you turn to Prayer.

Bring to mind the good gifts God has given you this past week.

Celebrate His amazing grace and kindness and generosity.

Celebrate His acts of goodness to you and others.

Celebrate with the psalmist and the musicians and the dancers!

Call to Midday Prayer

At this time in your Tuesday and in these uncertain times you are invited to pause and pray with others who are gathered in the Upper Room …to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to be still in God’s Presence

You are invited to name others in need known to you

You are encouraged to pray God’s blessing on our Church Family as we live and work and witness for Jesus

UPPER ROOM and Kirk October Time-Out

As a Church we set aside a Tuesday each week and provide a place with space – the UPPER ROOM – a place for time-out. However in these recent weeks and months sadly it was not possible to open and run this space….BUT IT IS THIS TUESDAY!

You are invited to….

* A place with space
** For time-out
* Private prayer
** With God

Above the Kirkgate Cafe…..7.30am-7.30pm

Opportunites to pray with others will be possible at 8am…12 noon and 7pm

There are guidelines to follow…..including wearing a face covering.

But…..our Tuesdays – and every day – can still be an opportunity for time out…..with God…..where we are at home or work

You are invited to pause regularly at some time during OCTOBER and be still with God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

You are encouraged to speak with Him….to listen to Him.…to receive from Him…especially at this time as we seek to hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church in these times.

The PATHWAY of PEACE around the Kirk is now closed but you can still walk around the building and as you walk and think and reflect and pray in these days know that God is still walking with you. You will find that there are prompts to consider from the Bible as you prayerfully walk – helpfully provided by Ruth from MATTHEW 6 at this time.

You are invited to share in the Midday Prayers and Evening Prayers that will be posted online at 12noon and 9pm on various days on the Kirk website and on our social media pages. We are also encouraged to pray with others in our city and across our land at 5pm….focussing on all those affected by the coronavirus…..and during this week you are invited again to join with others and pray for all those affected afresh by the new coronavirus restrictions.

You are invited to take time out with God.
You are invited to the Upper Room tomorrow.
You are invited to walk around the Kirk.
