Thy Kingdom Come #Offer

In our land and across our world during the 10 days before Pentecost 2017 and 2018 believers and followers of Jesus were invited to pause and pray for the Kingdom of God to be experienced and evidenced anew. This was a venture created by God through the Archbishop of Canterbury and others and will be repeated in 2019.

As part of our daily devotional rhythm there are 11 posts on our website and social media pages – each Saturday morning at 8am – on the 11 themes brought to us by the Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture leaders.

Today we are invited to pause in God’s presence – and bring Him our prayers – offering ourselves and our Church for His Kingdom purposes

Please take a few minutes to pray your prayers this morning.
Offer yourself – body, mind and spirit – and bank balance and possessions – time and talents.

O LORD our God
Thy Kingdom come
Thy will be done
In Jesus’ name, Amen and Amen!

Thy Kingdom Come #sorry

This was a venture created by God through the Archbishop of Canterbury and others and will be repeated in 2019.

Today we are invited to pause in God’s presence – and bring Him our prayers of confession

Please take a few minutes to pray your prayers with honesty this morning.

Confess the words, actions, thoughts that are brought to your mind.

Pause and pray for the sins of our city.

O LORD our God
Have mercy we cry out.
Forgive us when we hide behind our walls at Liberton.
In Jesus’ name, Amen

Thy Kingdom Come #Thanks

In our land and across our world during the 10 days leading to Pentecost 2017 and 2018 believers and followers of Jesus were invited to pause and pray for the Kingdom of God to be experienced and evidenced anew. This was a venture created by God through the Archbishop of Canterbury and others….and will be repeated this year as we call on our God in prayer together.

As part of our daily devotional rhythm we are revisiting the 11 posts on our website and social media pages – each Saturday morning at 8am – on the 11 themes brought to us by the Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture leaders.

Today we are encouraged to offer our Prayers of Thanks – to Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Please take a few minutes to pause and say thank you.

Thank God for who He is.

Thank God for all His blessings in Christ Jesus…and all the good gifts you have received this past week.

Daily Devotions for March 2019

‘There has never been a prophet in Israel like Moses;
the LORD spoke with him face to face.’

Deuteronomy 34 verse 10

During 2019 we are looking at various Bible characters and their relationship with God, and with each other – as well as a couple of Psalms each weekend – pausing in prayer at our times of Midday Devotion for others in our church family, our city and our world at this time of the year.

In March we journey with Moses and enter the season of Lent.

** There will be a call to Midday Prayer and Evening Prayer at various times during the week as we travel through this year. **

We are all encouraged to listen for God’s voice and make our response
as we start together in our ‘rhythm of devotion’ during 2019.

These Devotions are but one way to feed on God’s Word in the morning, at midday, in the evening… to pray with Him continually through the day and even to share with others the treasures or hurdles you discover.
The Church website and Facebook page (even on a handy mobile) provide a fuller daily devotional page. However it all follows the pattern below which the information provided fits into, based on the Kirk’s origins of the Celtic and Northumbrian traditions which we started as a church family in 2015.

Morning
Reading and Meditation on the content and Prayer of response
Midday
Prayer – mostly for others
Evening

Reflection and Prayer at the end of the day

A Prayer for the Month of March

O God
Of Moses and Aaron
Of the weeks before Easter
We believe in You
We trust in You
We seek to please You
O Help us
Forgive us
Bless us
Guide us
Use us
Surprise us
This month
This time of Lent
In Jesus’ name
Amen

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
Amen
