CHRISTIAN AID WEEK – until 19th

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the Living God
Reading : PSALM 24

Meditation : take time and consider these words and images as your Sunday starts.
What is God saying to you today from His Word this morning?
What is your response to Him?

and then pray in response to the LORD God, our God, the Great King!

O LORD God,
Great and so worthy of praise.
We bow before You.
We lay our lives before You.
Oh fill us with songs of praise
Today and every day!
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Midday
Pray a blessing on the work of Christian Aid in our world
O LORD, God of mercy, hear our cry and pour out a blessing we ask!

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from Psalm 24
Reflect on all that is said and then Pray in response to this God
O LORD, our Great God, hear our evening prayers we ask
As we praise you for what we read.
As we look back over our day
As we look ahead to tomorrow
As we name before you those we are concerned about.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thy Kingdom Come #Thanks

In our land and across our world during the next 10 days believers and followers of Jesus are being invited to pause and pray for the Kingdom of God to be experienced and evidenced anew. This is a venture created by God through the Archbishop of Canterbury and others.

As part of our daily devotional rhythm there will be 11 posts on our website and social media pages – 10-20 May at 8am – on the 11 themes brought to us by the Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture leaders.

Today we are invited to pause in God’s presence – and bring Him our prayers of thanks – for who He is and for all He has done and given!

Please take a few minutes to pray your prayers of thanksgiving this morning.
Thank Father God for the gifts of this past week.
Thank God for all those who come into our buildings at Liberton Kirk.

Reading : 2 CHRONICLES 20 verses 1-30

What is God saying to you today?

And then Pray in response to this LORD Most High.

O LORD God,
I read
I believe
I worship You
With cries of joy
With songs of praise
Oh this day
Help me to keep my eyes upward
Seeing your hand of victory
And exalt You above all else.
Amen we pray together.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those seeking to know God’s Kingdom will
And for Big Alpha coming in autumn
God of grace and mercy hear our prayers and bless all real good we ask.

Evening

Reading : read this passage again – with joyful praise!
Reflect on your God…. and then Praise Him in your evening Prayer
LORD God, our God, receive our praise
For who You are!
For all you have done for us!
And as we give it all back to you
May you continue to reach and save people
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done across our world.

Invite and allow the Holy Spirit to bring words and images to your mind

Pray God’s blessing on churches in UK seeking God’s Kingdom to come
Father God, hear our prayers and bless them all real good we ask.

Evening
Reading : read this chapter again
Reflect on the words you have just read and pray in response
LORD our God, hear our evening prayers
And may we be a people who ever seek to do Your will above all!
Amen.

Please pray for prodigals to return to Jesus.

O Lord, hear our prayers and show amazing grace we ask.
