Time-Out Tuesday – where you are

As a Church we have set aside a Tuesday each week and provided a place with space – the UPPER ROOM – a place for time-out.
However in these times sadly it is not possible to open and run this space.

But…..our Tuesdays can still be an opportunity for time out…..with God

You are invited to pause at some time in your Tuesday tomorrow and be still with God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

You are encouraged to speak with Him….to listen to Him.…to receive from Him…

You are invited to share in the Midday Prayer and Evening Prayer that will be posted online at 12noon and 9pm.
We are also encouraged to pray the Lord’s Prayer with others in our city and across our land at 5pm….focussing on all those affected by the coronavirus.

You are invited to pray with others in our Church family as we journey through this week together…..and to listen for what God is saying to us in these particular days….

Thy Kingdom Come 2020

It’s a global prayer movement.

For our family and friends to meet with Jesus and experience the Kingdom of God in their lives.

For the Church and our world to see Thy Kingdom Come.

21st-31st May.

Each day there is a different theme to help us pray.
There will be videos posted daily from the TKC team on the website, YouTube and social media channels.

As a church, Liberton Kirk has registered to be a part of this.
You can too – at www.thykingdomcome.global

At 12 noon during the venture our Midday Prayer will be focussed on the daily theme.
On the 24th our Prayer Team will be meeting together to pray and chat.
On Tuesday 26th the Midday Upper Room time of prayer together will be available via Zoom and in the evening the Gathering for Prayer will focus on Thy Kingdom Come.

You are encouraged to be a part of this!
Need any more information…. please do contact TKC, Alastair, Susan or John.

A prayer from the TKC morning and evening prayer guide….
Almighty God,
your ascended Son has sent us into the world
to preach the good news of your kingdom:
inspire us with your Spirit
and fill our hearts with the fire of your love,
that all who hear your Word
may be drawn to you,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Daily Devotions for Tuesday 28th April, 2020

Upper Room day – time out with God

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus, Saviour and Lord

Reading : JOHN 20 verses 19-23

Meditation : take time and consider these few verses this morning.
Which words stay with you?
What are you encouraged and challenged by today?

Pray in response to what you have read
Taking time to pause and listen for God’s answer to you

O Lord
Speak to us
Speak to me
By name
And help me hear
What the Spirit is saying in these days
To me
To my family
To my Church
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Midday
Take time to listen for God to speak with you at this time of day
Ask, seek, knock….hear!
Father God…thank you.

Evening
Reading : read the verses again from JOHN 20
Reflect on the words…. and then Pray….to the LORD our God

O God, our God,
We bring our evening worship to you
As we lay ourselves and our families before you
As we acknowledge what you are saying to us at this time
In Jesus’ name.
Amen and Amen.

Time-out Tuesday and Evening Gathering for Prayer

We are also encouraged to pray the Lord’s Prayer with others in our city and across our land at 5pm.

You are invited to pray with others in our Church family as we journey through this week together…..and to listen for what God is saying to us in these days…. And so for this reason we will still be gathering together for Prayer in the evening…..but via Zoom.
It will be different.
But God is the same.
It will be strange in many ways.
But God is waiting to hear our prayers.

So you are encouraged to be part of this short time together…Tuesday evening at 7.30…..when we will be giving thanks, praying for our world, our country, our Church and for each other…….in spoken and unspoken prayer.

If you have not received the link for this Zoom meeting, please do contact Gary Ross, John or Alastair.
