Daily Devotions for Wednesday 16th December, 2020

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Three in One

Reading : 1 THESSALONIANS 4 verses 13-18

Meditation : consider all that is said here as your day starts.
The Hope of the Resurrection.
What do these words mean for you?

Then turn to pray to God in response….looking again at verse 14

O LORD our God,
Thank you for all these words
And all they teach me.
May we be a people
Who ever have this great hope!
O teach us to live this out
In our lives
In our community
In our world
In Jesus’ name, Amen

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on the work of Bethany Christian Trust at this time
O LORD, give grace and hear our prayers we ask this day.

Evening

Reading : read this passage again from 1 THESSALONIANS 4
Reflect on the words you have read and then pray in response to our God

LORD God, our God, God of resurrection hope, hear the evening prayers of your people
For we are indeed in need of encouragement in these days.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

A Call to Evening Prayer

As part of the Kirk’s rhythm of prayer and devotion we invite people to pause and pray each day.

We offer a Daily Devotions Bible reading each morning and a focus for midday prayer.

At this time in your Wednesday you are invited to pause and pray as the day closes.

You may wish to revisit MATTHEW 25.1-13 and consider what Jesus said here.
You may need to name others before Father God.
You may want to be still with God as you look back on your day.
