Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Three in One

Reading : MARK 8 v31 – 9 v1

Meditation : consider all that is said here as your day starts.
Jesus is the Son of Man.
How would you describe your relationship to this Jesus?

Then turn to pray to God in response

O LORD our God,
Thank you for these words
And all they teach me.
May we be a people
Who ever seek to know and follow Jesus
More and more
In our lives
In our community
In our world
In Jesus’ name, Amen

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on the staff and patients at Liberton Hospital
O LORD, have mercy and hear our prayers we ask this day.

Evening
Reading : read this passage again from MARK chapters 8 and 9
Reflect on the words you have read and then pray in response – to this Jesus

Lord Jesus, Son of Man,
Hear our evening prayers
As we look back on this day
As we name others before you
As we look around at our world
As we trust you for our tomorows
Amen and Amen.

Meditation : consider these particular words this morning.
El Olam. The Everlasting God.
What does it mean for you that God is Eternal?

And then pray in response – to this God of ours

O LORD our God,
El Olam.
Open our eyes
To who you are
Eternal
Everlasting
And forgive us
When we put you in a box.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

LORD, hear our prayers and comfort them real good we ask.

Humbly reflect on what you read and then pray in response – for yourself and
for others you have met during this day

As we name others we are concerned about at this time
