Daily Devotions for Saturday 18th January, 2020

FOCUS DAY at LK

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : PSALM 119 verse 17

Meditation : take time to consider these words this morning.
What encourages and challenges you in this one verse?
What is God saying to you today from His Word?

And then Pray in response – looking again at the words as you turn to prayer

O God,
Hear my morning prayer
As I trust in your Word
As I lay myself
And this day
Before you
In Jesus’ name.
Amen

Midday
Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your own midday prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
Amen

Evening
Reading : read this verse again from Psalm 119 at the end of your day
Reflect on these words as you look back over the day and then Pray in response

LORD God, our God, hear our prayers this evening
As we return our thanks to You
And trust you and your Word for tomorrow
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

What are you encouraged and challenged by?
What is your response to God’s Word today?

Take time to Pray in response

O God of power and grace,
As I read these words
Help me believe
And trust in You
In good times and in hard times.
May Your Holy Spirit work in and through me.
Even today
In Jesus’ name.
Amen – we pray together.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on the Liberton Northfield Church family
Father God, hear our prayers, have mercy and pour out blessings we ask

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from Proverbs 3
Reflect on the way God has led you in your life
and pray in response to Him – with humility
and for others known to you in need at this time

Lord Jesus, hear our evening prayers
As we stand on the promises in your Word
As we return our evening sacrifice of praise
As we bring ourselves to you at the end of this day.
As we name others before You.
Amen.
