Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Father God

Reading : NEHEMIAH 2 verses 1-10

Meditation : take time and consider this part of the Nehemiah story this morning.
‘I prayed to the God of Heaven, and then I said to the emperor……’
What is your prayer to the God of Heaven this morning?

And then pray in response – as your day starts
including for things you have been asked to do

Pray your own words to the LORD God

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on the land and people of Malawi
Father God…hear our prayers and bless them each and all we ask.

Evening
Reading : read this passage again from NEHEMIAH 2
Reflect on the verses and events at the end of your day
and Pray in response to this God – our God of Heaven and Earth

O LORD, hear our various evening prayers
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pause to Pray with Others

On this particular Wednesday..as the nation journeys through this further stage of Lockdown.. you are invited to pause and pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.
We are now pausing to pray at 6pm each day instead of 5pm as a result of the recent fresh Call to Prayer across the nation and the world at this time from the Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus

For family and friends and neighbours

For all students in our villages and towns and cities at this time

For NHS and Care Home staff across the nation

For our country and our national leaders at this time of decision making

A Call to Midday Prayer

You are invited to pause and pray with others in our Church Family at this time in your day

Meditation : prayerfully consider these words as you imagine all that happens.
Nehemiah – a man of prayer.
What words stays with you?
How would you describe your prayer life at this time?

Then pray in response to this God of ours

O LORD our God,
Teach us to pray
As Nehemiah did
As Jesus did
Hear our cries even today
In Jesus’ name
Amen and amen!

Pray God’s blessing on the land and people of South Africa in these times
O LORD, hear our prayers and bless them real good we ask.

Evening
Reading : read the verses again from NEHEMIAH 1
Reflect on the words you read and then pray in response

LORD God, merciful God, our God, hear our evening prayers
As we thank you for hearing our prayers
As we thank you for answering our prayers
As we trust you for answers still to come
