Good Friday Evening Prayer with Others

As we pause on this significant Friday….. with God – together – you may want to revisit today’s Daily Devotions from MARK 15 verses 21-41– as we consider TELLING OTHERS THE GOOD NEWS about Jesus through 2023.

We PAUSE with the Lord in prayer as the day closes

We REJOICE in the help and blessings He has given this particular Friday – to us and to others

We ASK for His presence, peace and strength – for ourselves and for others in our church family and our nation and in our world at this time – especially prayerfully supporting the people of Turkey and Syria, Ukraine and other parts of our world in deep need at this time

We YIELD – say Yes – to His Kingdom ways for tomorrow

Reading : MARK chapter 15 verses 21-41
Meditation : take time to consider these verses this morning
What words stay with you?

Then take time to Pray in response on this Good Friday
Words of gratitude – honest and humble

In Jesus’ name.
Amen and Amen – we pray together.

Pray God’s blessing on those on our Church Family Prayer List
Father God, hear our prayers, have mercy and give help we ask

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from MARK 15
Reflect on the words and events that happened here
and pray in response to this Lord our Saviour God

LORD God, the God of the Cross,
Our God,
Hear our evening prayers
As we return our sacrifice of praise for who you are
For sending Jesus
From heaven to earth
From the earth to the cross
As we bring ourselves and our world to you at the end of this day.
Amen.

Which words stay with you?
What is God teaching/reminding you today?

And then pray in response as your Thursday starts

Pray your own words to the LORD our God

O LORD
Our Creator and Saviour.
Hear our many prayers
On this Maundy Thursday
As we remember
As we pause and consider
All that happened
In Jesus’ name
Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those facing a tough decision at this time
O LORD, hear our prayers and pour out help and comfort we ask

Evening
Reading : read the set verses again from MATTHEW 26
Reflect on these words again at the end of your day
and Pray in response to this God of ours with honest and humble words

O LORD God, hear our evening prayers
As we thank You for Your help in our lives.
O have mercy we ask
On others
On our Church
On our world

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Three in One

Reading : PSALM 59
Meditation : consider all that is said here as your day starts.
Deliver me.
My strength, My fortress, My loving God.
What is your response to God’s written Word today?
This is our God we believe and trust in.

Then turn to pray to Him in response

O LORD our God,
Thank you for all these words
And all they teach me about who you are.
Receive my sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving
And help me keep my eyes upward this day
My strength
My fortress
My loving God
In Jesus’ name, Amen

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those who are facing financial difficulties at this time
O LORD, give help and hear our prayers we ask this day.

Evening
Reading : read this passage again from PSALM 59
Reflect on the words you have read and then pray in response – to this God, our God

LORD God, our God,
God who deserves our thanks
Our strength and fortress and loving God,
Hear the evening prayers of your people
For we are indeed in need of rescue from this world
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
