Daily Devotions for Saturday 12th December, 2020

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : MATTHEW 28 verses 16-20

Meditation : take time to consider these words this morning.
‘….to the end of the age’
What do they mean for you?
What is God saying to you today about his purposes?

And then Pause to Pray in response to what you read

In Jesus’ name
Amen and Amen
!

Midday

Pray the Prayer for the Month as your own midday prayer

Father God
You are preparing us for the coming of the new Heaven and the new Earth
The old will disappear
The new will come
Alpha and Omega
Beginning and End
You are our God and we are your children
Amen

Evening
Reading : read these words again from MATTHEW 28
Reflect on these words from Jesus…. and then Pray to Him in your evening Prayer

Lord Jesus, our Saviour and Teacher,
Receive our evening praise
For who You are!
For all you have done for us!
And as we give it all back to you
May you continue to reach and save people
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done
In our street, in our city, in this world.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

A Call to Evening Prayer

As part of the Kirk’s rhythm of prayer and devotion we invite people to pause and pray each day.

We offer a Daily Devotions Bible reading each morning and a focus for midday prayer.

At this time in your Friday you are invited to pause and pray as the day closes.

You may wish to revisit MATTHEW 26.17-30 and consider what Jesus said here.
You may need to name others before Father God.
You may want to be still with God as you look back on your day.

A Time to Pray with Others

At this time in your Friday and in these changing times you are invited to pause and pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus

For family and friends

For all who live and work in our city

For NHS and Care Home staff in our city

For our country and our national leaders at this time
