Following on from John’s sermon on Sunday morning
You are encouraged to take time out
With God
On this particular Tuesday

You are invited to pause and pray with Him

You are encouraged to visit the UPPER ROOM

A place with space
to wait
ask…seek…listen…

and sofas
and cushions
and more

The room is open 7.30am-7.15pm
And there are opportunities to pause and pray with others
7.30-8am
12noon-12.30pm
2.45-3.45pm
7-7.15pm

Daily Devotions for December 9th, 2019

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the LORD God, the Eternal One

Reading : LUKE 2 verses 1-7

Meditation : take time to consider these words this morning.
What words or images stay with you?
What is God saying to you today?

Then take time to Pray in response
And for a family known to you at this time

LORD God,
Have mercy on us and our families we ask.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on the persecuted Church in India
O LORD, hear our prayers at this time of day and have mercy we ask.

Evening
Reading : read the verses again from LUKE 2
Reflect on their meaning for you and pray in response…to Father God
O Living and True God, our heavenly Father, hear our evening prayers
And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sinned against us even today.
Oh pour out a blessing on those we name before you
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray for a church near your home to know Sunday blessings
O LORD God, hear and answer our prayers.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.


Evening

Reading : read these 2 set words again as your day ends
Reflect on the truths beyond the words and then Pray to this God …our God
Including for others known to you in need at this time
O Father, Son and Holy Spirit, hear our evening prayers
As we praise You for who You are
As we return our thanks to you for the blessings of this day.
As we name others in need before You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thy Kingdom Come #sorry

As a church family at Liberton Kirk we have been revisiting the 11 themes from the Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture earlier in the year. We are pausing to do so together on a Saturday morning.

This morning we are invited to pause and pray…with confession…as we say sorry to Father God.
