Daily Devotions for Wednesday 25th May, 2022

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God

Reading : ROMANS 7 verses 24 and 25

Meditation : take time to consider what these verses teach us today.
Who will rescue me?
Thanks be to God!!

What are you challenged and encouraged by this morning?
What question are you asking God at this time?
What are you thankful for at this time?

Then take the time to Pray to this God, our God who helps.
Look again at the start to verse 25 as you turn to prayer

I go to you for protection, LORD;
rescue me from my enemies.
You are my God;
teach me to do your will.
Be good to me, and guide me on a safe path.
Rescue me, LORD, as you have promised;
in your goodness save me from my troubles!

In Jesus’ Name
Amen!

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on the government of Libya
O LORD God, have mercy on this land and hear our prayers this day we ask.

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from ROMANS 7 verses 24 and 25
Reflect on the words…. And then pray to the LORD our God

Pray in response to what you have read
Taking time to pause and listen for God’s answer to you

I call to the LORD for help;
I plead with him.
I bring him all my complaints;
I tell him all my troubles.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Take time to listen for God to speak with you at this time of day
Ask, seek, knock….hear!
Father God…thank you.

Evening

Reflect on the words…. and then Pray….to the LORD our God

Find out if there is any evil in me
and guide me in the everlasting way

Human conflict within.
Sin lives in me.

What do the words mean for you today?
What is God teaching/reminding you and what is your response?

And then pray in response – using Paul’s honest words as you turn to prayer

God of amazing grace
We bow before you
We believe in you
We trust in you
We need you
Even today
In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
