Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the Living God

Day 4 of Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture
This is a global venture as Christians around the world
Pray for up to 5 friends to meet with Jesus
Pray for evidence of God’s Kingdom on earth
As it is in heaven
Pray for God’s Kingdom will to be done
In our lives
In our community where we live
In His Church
In our nation
In our world

Reading : PHILIPPIANS 4 verses 2-9

Meditation : take time and consider this short passage this particular Sunday morning.
Saying SORRY.
What is God teaching/reminding you?
Is there someone you need to say sorry to?

And then pray in response – using your own honest words as you turn to prayer
asking for forgiveness,,,as we forgive others…

In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Midday
Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
Amen

Evening
Reading : read these particular verses again from PHILIPPIANS 4 verses 2-9

Reflect on the words written here and then Pray in response to this God

O LORD, Father God,
Hear our evening prayers we ask
Forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who have sinned against us

Reading : PHILIPPIANS 1 verses 1-11

Meditation : take the time to consider these words of THANKS this Saturday morning.
Which words stay with you as your day starts?

And then take time to Pray with THANKS in response to this God

Praise the LORD!
It is good to sing praise to our God;
it is pleasant and right to praise him.
The LORD is restoring Jerusalem;
he is bringing back the exiles.
He heals the broken-hearted
and bandages their wounds.
He has decided the number of the stars
and calls each one by name.
Great and mighty is our Lord;
his wisdom cannot be measured.
He raises the humble,
but crushes the wicked to the ground.

Amen we pray with thanks together this new day!

Midday
Pray the Prayer for the Month as your own midday prayer

Thy Kingdom Come
O Living God
In my life

Thy Kingdom Come
O Loving God
In my family

Thy Kingdom Come
O Merciful God
In our nation

Thy Kingdom Come
O Sovereign God
In our world

In Jesus’ name
Amen we call out together

Evening
Reading : read the verses again from PHILIPPIANS 1 – in another version?
Reflect on the truths behind the words….
and then Pray with THANKS in response to what you have read

Sing hymns of praise to the LORD;
play music on the harp to our God.
He spreads clouds over the sky;
he provides rain for the earth
and makes grass grow on the hills.
He gives animals their food
and feeds the young ravens when they call.
His pleasure is not in strong horses,
nor his delight in brave soldiers;
but he takes pleasure in those who honour him,
in those who trust in his constant love

And so this evening we thank you O God for…..

Reading : ACTS 2 verses 42-47

Meditation : as we pause with God we take time and consider all that is said here
A people who praise!
What images or words stay with you?
What is God teaching/reminding you today?

And then Pray with words of Praise to this God of ours in response

Happy are those who have the God of Jacob to help them
and who depend on the LORD their God,
the Creator of heaven, earth, and sea,
and all that is in them.
He always keeps his promises;
He judges in favour of the oppressed
and gives food to the hungry

And so we bring our sacrifice of praise to you, our God Most High.
Amen – we pray together.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on refugees and migrants from Libya
Father God, hear our prayers and bless them real good we ask

Evening
Reading : read this passage again from ACTS 2
Reflect on the words written here and pray in response to the LORD our God

Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD, my soul
I will praise him as long as I live;
I will sing to my God all my life.

Pray for God’s Kingdom will to be done
In our lives
In our community where we live
In His Church
In our nation
In our world

Reading : ACTS 4 verses 13-22

Meditation : take time and consider these words about following JESUS this morning.
Which words stay with you?
Who is Jesus to you?

Then pause to pray to this God who sent Jesus

All your creatures, LORD, will praise you,
and all your people will give you thanks.
They will speak of the glory of your royal power
and tell of your might,
so that everyone will know your mighty deeds
and the glorious majesty of your kingdom.
Your rule is eternal,
and you are king forever.
The LORD is faithful to his promises;
he is merciful in all his acts.
He helps those who are in trouble;
he lifts those who have fallen.

And so we bring our sacrifice of praise to you, our God
This morning
As we name others we long to see meet with Jesus
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God of grace…hear our prayers and pour a blessing we ask on your Church

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from ACTS 4
Reflect on the words and images – at the end of your day
and Pray in response to this God – our God

People will speak of your mighty deeds,
and I will proclaim your greatness.
They will tell about all your goodness
and sing about your kindness.
The LORD is loving and merciful,
slow to become angry and full of constant love.
He is good to everyone
and has compassion on all he made.

O LORD, hear our evening prayers
As we thank you for sending Jesus
As we name others we long to meet with Him
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Daily Devotions for Wednesday 25th May, 2022

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God

Reading : ROMANS 7 verses 24 and 25

Meditation : take time to consider what these verses teach us today.
Who will rescue me?
Thanks be to God!!
What are you challenged and encouraged by this morning?
What question are you asking God at this time?
What are you thankful for at this time?

Then take the time to Pray to this God, our God who helps.
Look again at the start to verse 25 as you turn to prayer

I go to you for protection, LORD;
rescue me from my enemies.
You are my God;
teach me to do your will.
Be good to me, and guide me on a safe path.
Rescue me, LORD, as you have promised;
in your goodness save me from my troubles!

In Jesus’ Name
Amen!

Pray God’s blessing on the government of Libya
O LORD God, have mercy on this land and hear our prayers this day we ask.

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from ROMANS 7 verses 24 and 25
Reflect on the words…. And then pray to the LORD our God

I go to you for protection, LORD;
rescue me from my enemies.
You are my God;
teach me to do your will.
Be good to me, and guide me on a safe path.
Rescue me, LORD, as you have promised;
in your goodness save me from my troubles!

Hear our evening prayers, O God, as this day ends.
We believe and trust in You and lay ourselves before You
With heaps of thanksgiving!
