O Lord you have said that we would have troubles in this world,
but, You have overcome the world.
Keep us, therefore, in your grace as you have promised.
Amen

Evening
Reading : read the verses again from JOHN 6 verses 16-59
Reflect on these words…. and then Pray in response to what you have read
This is our God! The God who gives eternal life!

Sing hymns of praise to the LORD;
play music on the harp to our God.
He spreads clouds over the sky;
he provides rain for the earth
and makes grass grow on the hills.
He gives animals their food
and feeds the young ravens when they call.
His pleasure is not in strong horses,
nor his delight in brave soldiers;
but he takes pleasure in those who honour him,
in those who trust in his constant love

In Jesus’ name, Amen!

This new day
In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
Amen

As we pilgrimage on towards tomorrow
With hope and confidence in You above all others
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Daily Devotions for Friday 22nd September, 2023

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus

Reading : JOHN chapter 6 verses 25-59

Meditation : take time and consider all that is said here
The Bread of Life!

What images or words stay with you?
What is God teaching/reminding you?
Where are you feeding at this time?

And then Pray with words of hunger to this God of ours in response

Happy are those who have the God of Jacob to help them
and who depend on the LORD their God,
the Creator of heaven, earth, and sea,
and all that is in them.
He always keeps his promises;
He judges in favour of the oppressed
and gives food to the hungry

And so we ask, Holy Spirit,
Create in us a deeper longer
A greater hunger
For Jesus
The Bread of Life
Amen – we pray together.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on our Kirk Session Executive
Father God, hear our prayers and bless them real good we ask

Evening
Reading : read this passage again from JOHN 6 verses 25-59
