Reading : MATTHEW 5 verse 9

What is God asking of you today?

Pray in response to Him – for your family and for our world in these days

LORD God of perfect peace,
Thank you for the words I read
Oh may your blessing be with each and all I name before you
And across our broken world
Even today.

Pray God’s blessing on our Elders and Kirk Session at Liberton Kirk
O LORD, have mercy, bless each and all and hear our prayers we ask.

Evening
Reading : read the verse again
Reflect on its meaning for you and pray in response to our God.
Father God, hear our evening prayers
As we bring our prayers for others
And call out again to you for our world.

Which words stay with you?
What is God saying to you from today?
Look again at verses 4 and 5.

Pray humbly in response – including for others in need today

Father God,
God of grace and mercy and comfort
Thank you.
Hear my prayers on this day for others known to me.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Midday
Pray for those grieving and suffering at this time – to know God’s blessing
O God of all comfort, in your mercy hear our prayers.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Evening
Reading : read these verses again
Reflect on the truths beyond the words and then Pray to our God …
Giving thanks for the blessings He has given even today
A Celtic Prayer
Watch, dear Lord, with those who wake or watch or weep tonight and
give your angels charge over those who sleep.
Tend your sick ones, O Lord, rest your weary ones,
Bless your dying ones, soothe your suffering ones,
Shield your joyous ones,
And all for your love’s sake.
