Pray to hear and receive from the Lord

Reading : Luke 9 verses 18-36
Meditation : take time and consider these verses…..who says what…..
and all that happens on that mountain!

Pray to this God in response

God of glory,
Hear my prayer this morning.
Teach me more of Your wondrous truths
As experienced by Peter, John and James
And make these words living and true for me and my church
That others may truly see Jesus
In all His glory and grace.
In Jesus’ name I ask, Amen.

Midday

Pray a blessing from God on the BIG IDEA churches in our city
Lord, hear my prayer and let Your glory be seen around 

Evening

Reading : read the verses again from Luke 9

Reflect on these words and events and pray your evening prayer of response

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the LORD God, “who is, and who was,
and who is to come, the Almighty.”                           Revelation 1 verse 8

            

As we move to the close of the year, during November and December, we have been preparing to celebrate ADVENT and CHRISTMAS by feeding on LUKE’S Good News and the book of John’s REVELATION – JESUS came to earth and JESUS is coming back!

The Devotions are but one way to feed on God’s Word in the morning, at midday, in the evening… to pray with Him continually through your day and even to share with others the treasures or hurdles you discover.

The Church website and Facebook page (even on a handy mobile) provide a fuller daily devotional page. However it all follows the pattern below which the information overleaf fits into, based on the Kirk’s origins of the Celtic and Northumbrian traditions.

Reading : Luke 6 verses 12-16
Meditation : take time and consider each of these men and how their lives were eventually changed because they followed Jesus – wherever He went!

Pray in response – as His Spirit leads you

Lord Jesus,
I choose to follow you.
Help my unwillingness….Even now…
And make me truly ever ready to go where you send me.
In Your name I ask, Amen.
