1^st Sunday in ADVENT

Morning

Pray to hear and receive from the Living God

Reading :   Luke 5 verses 27-32
Meditation :  take time and consider these words….and a man changed!

And then pray humbly in response, to be a Levi

O LORD God,
As I read these words
Make them true in my life.
Change me, oh change me!
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Midday

Take time to listen for God to speak with you during this day – whatever the time.
O Lord, thank You.

Evening

Reading : read these verses again

Reflect on the words and then Pray in response to this Lord Jesus

O LORD, thank you that you have time for me.
Hear our evening prayers we ask.

Morning

Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : Luke 5 verses 12-26
Meditation : consider the events here in this part of the Gospel…and the lives dramatically changed by Jesus!

And then Pray in response – for Jesus to bring healing to others

O Lord
I read
I believe
Help my unbelief
And touch with healing those in need today.
Amen we pray together this day.

Pray for the Church across Scotland to know Sunday blessings tomorrow!
O LORD, hear our prayers we ask.

Evening

Reading : read the verses again

Reflect as you imagine the scenes and then Pray in response as they speak to you

LORD God, our God, hear our prayers at the end of this day.

Pray to hear and receive from Jesus

Reading :   Luke 5 verses 1-11
Meditation : consider the men we meet here….and all that is said.
Can you picture each man?

Pray in response – to follow Jesus closer and closer

O Jesus of Luke 5,
I read what happened.
Help me believe
And trust in You
More and more
And really follow you
Closer and closer
Even today.
Amen – we pray together.

Pray for someone you know to meet with Jesus
Father God, hear our prayers 

Evening

Reading : read the verses again from Luke 5

Reflect on this Jesus who was at work in those lives and pray in response to Him

Lord Jesus, hear our evening prayers.

Reading : Luke 4 verses 31-44
Meditation :   take time and consider all that happens here….how lives are truly changed!!

Then pray in response – to this same Lord Jesus

O LORD, receive our praise and hear our prayers.

Pray God’s blessing on work of Bethany Christian Trust across Scotland.

Reflect on these verses at the end of your day
and Pray in response to this God of healing and authority

LORD, hear our evening prayers and may people talk about Jesus in our land!

Pray to hear and receive from God, the Three in One

Reading : Luke 4 verses 14-30
Meditation : take time to consider these events and words.
What is God saying to you today? What is your response?

Then pray in response….to keep in step with the Spirit today.

O LORD our God,
Thank you for these words
And all they teach me.
Thank you for Jesus.
Thank you for your Holy Spirit.
Oh help me even today to keep in step!
