Daily Devotions for Monday 5th October, 2020

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the LORD God, the Eternal One

Reading : PSALM 93

Meditation : take time to consider these words this morning.
The LORD is King!
What words or images stay with you?
What is God saying to you today about Himself?

Then take time to Pray in response
As you bow in the Presence of the LORD our King

LORD God,
As we bow before You
As we bring our sacrifice of praise
Thy Kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth
As it is in heaven
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those who live near the Kirk
O LORD, hear our prayers at this time of day and give saving grace we ask.

Evening
Reading : read the verses again from PSALM 93

Reflect on their meaning for you and pray in response…to this God of ours

O Living and True God, our King, hear our evening prayers
And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sinned against us even today.
O pour out a blessing on those we name before you
And in our lives may others see evidence of Your Kingdom life and grace
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Communion Sunday at LK

Morning

Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit, on this Sunday

Reading : PSALM 119 verse 104

Meditation : take time to consider this part of the Psalm.
What is God saying to you today from his Word?
What are you encouraged and challenged by in this one verse?

Pray in response to what you have read and considered
Pray for the Communion Service to evidence God at work

In Jesus’ name
Today this is my prayer
For I believe and trust in Him
Amen.

Midday
Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your own Midday Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
Amen

Evening
Reading : read Psalm 119.104 again as your day ends

Reflect on the truths beyond the words and then Pray to this God …our God
Including for others known to you in need at this time

O Father, Son and Holy Spirit, hear our evening prayers
As we praise You for who You are
As we return our thanks to you for the blessings of this Sunday.
As we name others in need before You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thy Kingdom Come #prayfor

As a Church we took part in the global prayer venture of Thy Kingdom Come earlier this year.
This ran during the 11 days between Ascension and Pentecost….many weeks and months ago now!

Each Saturday at 12 noon we are continuing to ask and seek and knock on Heaven’s door…..’Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done’…..and to pray for up to 5 people we know to meet with Jesus and to experience God’s Kingdom reign in their lives.

This week we focus on the theme of PRAY FOR as we pause to pray with others.

We are invited to spend time with the LORD our Father God….bringing our prayers for others to Him

In these days our prayer list for those we love, those we are concerned about, those in our community and city and nation and world will probably be a lengthy one.

Take time out with God

Name others before Him

Ask
Seek
Knock

Pray for others
