Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus

Reading : JEREMIAH 17 verses 14-18

Meditation : take time to consider these verses this morning.
Jeremiah asks the LORD for Help
What are the words of your prayer this morning?

Then take time to Pray to this God of ours
For yourself and for others in need known to you

In Jesus’ name.
Amen and Amen – we pray together.

Pray God’s blessing on our Session Clerk, Chris Brandie, and his family
Father God, hear our prayers, have mercy and pour out blessings we ask

Evening

Reading : read these verses again from JEREMIAH 17
Reflect on the way God has helped you in your life
and pray in response to Him – with praise
and for others known to you in need at this time

LORD God, the God who Helps, our God,
Hear our evening prayers
As we return our sacrifice of praise for who you are
As we bring ourselves to you at the end of this day.
As we name others before You.
Amen.

Meditation : consider these words this morning.
‘To whom can the holy God be compared?’
Is this your God?

Look again at verses 29-31 as your turn to prayer.

And then Pray in response – as God leads you
Pray to receive His strength and help for this day
Pray with confidence to our God to bless others known to us

Amen – we pray together.

Father God, hear our prayers, have mercy and bless her real good we ask.

Reading : read this passage again from ISAIAH 40
Reflect on the words you have just read and pray in response

Lord Jesus, hear our evening prayers as we respond to these words
And bring a blessing to those in need this evening we ask.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus

For family and friends and neighbours

For the parts of our nation where variants are causing problems

For NHS and Care Home staff across the nation

For our country and our national leaders at this time of decision making

Meditation : take time and consider all that is said here about the Kingdom of God.
What images or words stay with you?
What is God saying to you today from His Word?
What is your response to Him?

Pray to this God of ours in response
Including for others on a journey meeting with God

O Living LORD,
I read these words.
Help me let the Holy Spirit work out these truths
Even today.
May you guide and bless others
At this time in their lives
Thy Kingdom come
Thy will be done we ask
Amen – we pray together.

Pray God’s blessing on those who work in funeral parlours in our city
Father God, hear our prayers and bless them real good we ask

Evening
Reading : read this passage again from MATTHEW 25
Reflect on the words spoken here and pray in response to our God

Living LORD, hear our evening prayers and receive our praise
For we believe and trust in you
Thy Kingdom come
Thy will be done we ask
