God is King!
What are you encouraged and challenged by?

Pray in response to what you have read and considered

In Jesus’ name
Today this is my prayer
These are my songs of praise
For I believe and trust in Him – the King of kings!
Amen.

Midday
Pray the Prayer for the Month as your own midday prayer

Our Father in Heaven
May your holy name be honoured
In our lives
In your Church

Our Father in Heaven
May your kingdom rule be seen
In our lives
In our community

Our Father in Heaven
May your will be done
In our lives
In our nation

Our Father in Heaven
May your kingdom come
May your will be done
In our world

In Jesus’ name
Amen

Evening
Reading : read PSALM 24 again as your day ends
Reflect on the truths beyond the words and then Pray to this God …our God

O Father, Son and Holy Spirit, hear our evening prayers
As we praise You for who You are
As we return our thanks to you for the blessings of this day.
As we call on You
As we name others in need before You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thy Kingdom Come 2021

As part of God’s Church we have participated in the global prayer venture of Thy Kingdom Come each year. This runs during the 11 days between Ascension and Pentecost…..and this year it will happen May 13th-23rd.

You are invited to be a part of this.
You are encouraged to plan ahead in preparation.
Look out for more information from the Prayer Team.

Each Saturday at 12 noon we are continuing to ask and seek and knock on Heaven’s door…..’Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done’…..and to pray for up to 5 people we know to meet with Jesus and to experience God’s Kingdom reign in their lives. Who is on your list?

This week as we pause to pray with others we are asking God to prepare us…as individuals, as a Church, as a nation, in our world… to experience afresh God’s Kingdom rule…to evidence the Kingdom of God at work.

Spirit of the Living God
Fall afresh on me, on us
Break me
Melt me
Mould me
Fill me
Use me
Spirit of the Living God
Fall afresh on us

Daily Devotions for Saturday 1st May, 2021

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus.

Reading : 1 SAMUEL chapter 8

Meditation : take time to consider these words this Saturday morning.
God’s people want a king!

Then Pray in response to God – our King

O LORD
Our God
King of kings,
Receive our praise
Hear our prayers
And keep us on the right path we ask
As you walk with us this day
And through this month
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Midday
Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
Amen

Evening

Reflect prayerfully on the words and all that happens here ….. and then Pray in response
Especially for others who are choosing to know God at this time

Spirit of the Living God, hear our evening prayers at the end of this day
And be with those we name before you.
In Jesus’ saving name, Amen.

Daily Devotions for MAY 2021

Our Father in heaven…..May your kingdom come;
May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Matthew 6 verses 9 and 10

During 2021 we are looking daily at the theme of PRAYER – and pausing at our times of Midday Devotion to pray for others in our church family, our city and our world at this time.

*In May as we journey on towards PENTECOST we consider therefore the theme of THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE *

From 13th-23rd we will be sharing in the global prayer venture of Thy Kingdom Come and the 11 daily themes they provide. These themes will take the focus of our Daily Devotional each day, the Daily Reflections and then at Midday we will be sharing the daily video from thy Kingdom Come on our Facebook page. We have the opportunity to pray for up to 5 people we know to meet Jesus and to seek the Kingdom of God evidenced afresh in our day.

We are all encouraged to listen for God’s voice and make our response as we journey together in our ‘rhythm of devotion’ during this year of 2021. You are invited to sign up to receive the daily email during 13th-23rd from TKC which will include the daily theme and the relevant video clip. There is also a Youth TKC focus! You can find out more at www.thykingdomcome.global

These Devotions are but one way to feed on God’s Word in the morning, at midday, in the evening… to pray with Him continually through the day and even to share with others the treasures or hurdles you discover.
The Church website and Facebook page (even on a handy mobile) provide a fuller daily devotional page. However it all follows the pattern below which the information provided fits into, based on the Kirk’s origins of the Celtic and Northumbrian traditions which we started as a church family in 2015.

Time Out Tuesday

As a Church we usually set aside a Tuesday each week and provide a place with space – the UPPER ROOM – a place for time-out in these busier days. In these weeks and months of lockdown 2021 it has not been possible once again to open and run this space….for the moment anyhow…..all going well Tuesday 4th May will see that change!

However, this Tuesday instead of visiting the Upper Room you are encouraged to pause where you are…..and tarry a while with God, maybe a bit longer than usual……to wait…ask…seek…receive….in this season when lockdown is a-changing bit by bit.

* Find a space to be still in a busy world
** For a regular time-out during this month
* Private prayer for yourself and for others
** Listening to God – Father Son and Holy Spirit

You are invited to share in the Midday Prayers and Evening Prayers that will be posted online at 12noon and 9pm on various days on the Kirk website and on our social media pages. We are also encouraged to pray with others in our city and across our land at 6pm….focussing on all those affected by the coronavirus…..and during these particular weeks you are invited to join with others and pray for all those still affected afresh by the coronavirus restrictions and the consequences of lockdown.

You are encouraged to take some exercise by the Government..and we would invite you to take a walk around the Kirkyard and consider what God is saying to you at this time from the words displayed from JOHN 3.

Thy Kingdom Come #Jesus

As part of God’s Church we have participated in the global prayer venture of Thy Kingdom Come each year. This runs during the 11 days between Ascension and Pentecost…..and this year it will happen May 13th-23rd.
You are invited to be a part of this.

More information will soon be shared from the Prayer Team.

This week we focus on the theme of JESUS as we pause to pray with others.

We are encouraged to pause and take time with the LORD our God on this particular Saturday in April 2021.

To cry out for those on our list to meet with Jesus and have a Kingdom-changing-experience.

To ask…..seek…..knock…..wait…..

Thy Kingdom Come O God!
Give saving grace we ask!
