Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God

Reading : JOHN 3 verse 5

Meditation : take time to consider what Jesus is saying here.
What are you challenged and encouraged by this morning?
How would you describe your relationship with the Living God?

Then take the time to Pray to this God, our God of new birth.
Look again at the verse as you turn to prayer

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on the work of Edinburgh City Mission
O LORD God, have mercy on each and all and bless this work we ask.

Evening
Reading : read this verse again from JOHN 3
Reflect on the words…. And then pray to the LORD our God

Hear our evening prayers, O God, as this day ends.
We believe and trust in You and lay ourselves before You.
As we name others new to Christian living
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Lent Rhythm of Prayer and Devotion

As you step into the season of Lent tomorrow what will be your rhythm of Prayer and Devotion?

Time Out Tuesday

As part of our rhythm of devotion and prayer as a church family we set aside the space above the Kirkgate Cafe each Tuesday…..a place with space….the Upper Room.

You are encouraged to take time out….on this particular Tuesday….the day before the season of Lent starts….

Reading : MARK 15 verses 1-20

Meditation : take time and consider this part of the Bible this morning.
Imagine the scene and those involved.
What is God saying to you today?

Then pray in response – as your day starts
Praying for those in leadership in our country.

In worship and thanks for what you have read,
In confession and need to be more like Jesus,
And for those who lead our nation at this time.)

O LORD, receive our praise and hear our prayers
In Jesus’ name, Amen

Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer

Father God of grace and mercy…and hope, hear our prayers.

Reflect on the verses at the end of your day
and Pray in response to Jesus – our Saviour

As we thank you for guiding us even this day.
