Daily Devotions for Saturday 29th May, 2021
Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit
Reading : MATTHEW 25 verses 14-30
Meditation : take the time to consider these words on this Saturday morning.
What is God saying to you about His Kingdom?
What is your response?
And then take time to Pray in response to this God
O God, our God
Thy Kingdom come
Thy will be done
Amen we pray together this new day.
Midday
Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
Amen
Evening
Reading : read the set verses again from MATTHEW 25
Reflect on the words…. and then Pray in response to what you have read
LORD God, our God, hear our evening prayers.
As we worship you for who you are
As we thank you for your help this day
And name others before you
Thy Kingdom come
Thy will be done
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
A Call to Evening Prayer
As your Friday draws to a close, you are invited to pause and pray
You may want to revisit the Daily Devotions for today – words of Jesus from Matthew 25 vs 1-13
You may need to name others before Father God
You may want to be still and receive from God the Holy Spirit
Pause to Pray for Others
On this particular Friday…as the nation journeys forward out of this season of Lockdown.. you are invited to pause and continue to pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.
You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus
For family and friends and neighbours
For the parts of our nation where variants are causing problems
For NHS and Care Home staff across the nation
For our country and our national leaders at this time of decision making
