Upper Room Time-Out

As a Church we usually set aside a Tuesday each week and provide a place with space – the UPPER ROOM – a place for time-out in our busy days above the Kirkgate Cafe. This is a safe place, and COVID-19 guidelines are carefully followed.

This Tuesday the Upper Room re-opens 7.30am-7.30pm – and perhaps this will be a place for you to visit – for the first time?

* To find space to be still in a busy world
** To pause and pray with God – for yourself and for others
* To listen to God – Father Son and Holy Spirit – in these slower days and moments

There will be opportunities to pause and pray with others – at 8am – 12 noon – 7pm – and John and others will be glad to share these with you.

You are also invited to take a meaningful walk…around the Pathway of Peace that has been available during July and August around the Kirk building….starting at the Offering House.
We would invite you to take a walk around the Kirkyard and consider what God is saying to you at this time from the words displayed at various locations from the Bible.
You are invited to use the bench at the top left of the Kirkyard (under the large tree) to pause and pray – to be still with God – to ask, seek, knock, wait and receive.

You are also reminded of the Prayer Wall available on the Kirk website under the Prayer tab – a place you can bring your prayers – and ask for prayer from the Prayer Team if appropriate.

The Daily Devotions have been taking us to the Psalms in July and August – and you may want to pray a psalm each day. This is available on the Kirk website blog and our social media pages on Facebook and Twitter from 7am- and in the church magazine.
And – don’t forget the brief Sunday morning Reflection at 8am…

Above all – make the most of a summer time-out – for body, mind and spirit!

The pattern used by 24-7 Prayer/Lectio365 has been a blessing to many of us….

Summer Time-Out

As a Church we usually set aside a Tuesday each week and provide a place with space – the UPPER ROOM – a place for time-out in our busy days. This is a safe place, and COVID-19 guidelines are carefully followed.

However – the Upper Room is now on holiday until mid-August!
And some of us are taking time away over the next few weeks – at last!

However, it is good to continue to take time-out with God in these coming days and weeks.

* To find space to be still in a busy world
** To pause and pray with God – for yourself and for others
* To listen to God – Father Son and Holy Spirit – in these slower days and moments

So – why not plan to read a meaningful devotional book in this summer break?
Or have a notebook or journal nearby and record thoughts and dreams and prayers – and what God is saying to you at this time?

You are invited to take a meaningful walk…around the Pathway of Peace that will be available during July and August around the Kirk building.

Prayer Wall and Requests

As a Church we believe in the reality and power of Prayer.
Did you know that a Prayer Wall is available on the Kirk website?

You can find this in the PRAYER section on the Kirk website…and we will be doing our best to keep this section more relevant and fresh.

Please have a look.
Please add your own prayer whenever you wish or need to.
Please ask for prayer support if you have a particular need…for yourself or another.

Each prayer written will be monitored first by members of the Prayer Team before it is made public, so anything private or sensitive will be picked up.
You are invited to ask for follow-up if it is helpful or to mention if you wish the prayer content to remain private within the Prayer Team and not be made public on the Wall.

Please remember that the Prayer Team can be contacted through John and Lindsay with any request and they will prayerfully act on the content. The Team members can also meet you somewhere suitable if this is required. There is also a Prayer Box for any request in the Kirkgate Centre Foyer and a Prayer Bench is now available in the Kirkyard – top left under the large tree – a place to pause with God.

A prayer….
Lord, we hand these ventures and opportunities over to You.
We thank You for the wonder of Prayer.
Now we ask you to do amazing things among us through this Prayer Wall!
Give us wisdom and answers as we call out to you!
In Jesus’ name
Amen.
