A Call to Saturday Evening Prayer

You are invited to pause and pray with others as you prepare to step into Sunday

You may want to revisit the Daily Devotions for today – PSALM 99

You may need to name others before Father God

You may want to be still in His refreshing presence

Pause to Pray with Others

On this particular Saturday…as the nation journeys forward out of this season of Lockdown.. you are invited to pause and pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus

For family and friends

For all who are in hospital beds as a result of COVID-19 at this time

For NHS and Care Home staff across the nation

For our country and our national leaders at this time of decision making

Thy Kingdom Come in Scotland

As part of God’s Church we have participated in the global prayer venture of Thy Kingdom Come each year. This runs during the 11 days between Ascension and Pentecost…..and this year it will happen May 13th-23rd.

You are invited to be a part of this.
You are encouraged to plan ahead in preparation.
Look out for more information each day on our Daily Devotions and Daily Reflections posts.

Each Saturday at 12 noon we are continuing to ask and seek and knock on Heaven’s door…..’Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done’…..and to pray for up to 5 people we know to meet with Jesus and to experience God’s Kingdom reign in their lives. Who is on your list?

This week as we pause to pray with others we are asking God to prepare us…as individuals, as a Church, as a nation, in our world… to experience afresh God’s Kingdom rule…to evidence the Kingdom of God at work.

We are invited to pause and pray for our nation after the national election….that the Kingdom of God may be evidenced in our land and His Kingdom will is done in our Government, our Church, our lives.

Daily Devotions for Saturday 8th May, 2021

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : PSALM 99

Meditation : take time to consider these verses this morning.
‘Exalt the LORD our God’
What is God saying to you today about Himself?

And then Pray in response to what you read – to this God of ours.
Look again at verse 9 as you turn to prayer

In Jesus’ name
Amen and Amen!

Midday

Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
Amen

Evening

Reading : read this Psalm again
Reflect on this God, your God, our God…. and then Call on Him in your evening Prayer

LORD God, our God, receive our praise
For who You are!
For all you have done for us!
For your help and protection even today!
And as we give it all back to you
May you continue to reach and save people
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done across our world
In our community, in our city.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
