A Call to Saturday Evening Prayer

You are invited to pause and pray at this time in your day

You may want to revisit the Daily Devotions for today – and consider again 2 CORINTHIANS 13 v 14

You may need to name others before Father God

You may want to be still with God as you look back on your day

Pause to Pray with Others

On this particular Saturday…as the nation journeys forward in this season of Lockdown…and on the day of Prince Philip’s funeral… you are invited to pause and pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus

For all who are grieving and mourning at this time

For NHS and Care Home staff across the nation

For our country and our national leaders at this time of decision making

Thy Kingdom Come

As part of God’s Church we have participated in the global prayer venture of Thy Kingdom Come each year. This runs during the 11 days between Ascension and Pentecost…..and this year it will happen May 13th-23rd.
You are invited to be a part of this.
You are encouraged to plan ahead in preparation.
More information will soon be shared from the Prayer Team.

Each Saturday at 12 noon we are continuing to ask and seek and knock on Heaven’s door…..’Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done’…..and to pray for up to 5 people we know to meet with Jesus and to experience God’s Kingdom reign in their lives. Who is on your list?

This week as we pause to pray with others we are asking God to comfort Her Majesty the Queen and the Royal Family.

Ask God to be with them at the funeral of Prince Philip this afternoon…..with His peace and comfort and strength and hope.

Ask God to give the Archbishop of Canterbury the right words to speak and that he might be used to let the Risen Jesus shine forth.

Daily Devotions for Saturday 17th April, 2021

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : 2 CORINTHIANS 13 verse 13

Meditation : take time to consider these words afresh this morning.
Words of prayerful blessing.
What do they mean to you?

And then Pray in response
Praying these words of blessing for 3 other people at this time

In Jesus’ name.
Amen

Midday
Pray the Prayer for the Month as your own midday prayer

God of Peter
God of yesterday
Hear us
Answer us

God of Paul
God of today
Lead us
Help us

God of James and John
God of tomorrow
Guide us
Use us

And may we be careful
To give You all the glory!
In Jesus’ name
Amen

Evening
Reading : read this one verse again from 2 CORINTHIANS 13.13 at the end of your day
Reflect on these words as you look back over the day and then Pray in response

LORD God, our Triune God, hear our prayers this evening
As we return our sacrifice of praise to You
And trust you for tomorrow
Have mercy on those we name before you
And on our world at this time
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
