Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Father God

Reading : MATTHEW 1 verses 18-25

Meditation : as we pause with God this morning we consider what is said here afresh.
What is God teaching/reminding you today?

And then pray in response as your day starts

Pray your own words to the LORD God
Immanuel
God with us

O LORD our God
These are our morning prayers
As we journey further into Advent
in Jesus’ name.
Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on all midwives in our community and city and nation
O LORD, hear our prayers and pour out a blessing we ask on each and all

Evening
Reading : read the set verses again from MATTHEW 1
Reflect on these words again at the end of your day
and Pray in response to this God of ours with confidence

O LORD God, hear our evening prayers
As we thank You for Your help in our lives.
O have mercy we ask
On others
In our families
In our world
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Which words stay with you as you turn to prayer?

Then pray in response to the LORD as your day starts
For yourself and for the Church in our world

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on the Leprosy Mission at work in Sri Lanka
Lord, hear our prayers and bless this work real good we ask.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done

Evening
Reading : read these particular verses again from REVELATION 2 verses 12-17
Reflect on the words spoken here – and what God is saying to you now.
Pray in response to this God we believe and trust in

O LORD, hear our evening prayers as this day closes
As we praise you for who You are
As we return our thanks to You.
As we humbly confess our sins
As we lay all we are and have before You
