HOW DO I RESIST EVIL?

Morning

Pray to hear and receive from Jesus

Reading :   Ephesians 6 verses 10-20
Meditation : take time and consider again the teaching given here by Paul about God’s provision of armour for the spiritual battle we are in.

Pray to this God for it all to be true for you – pray piece by piece.
O God of truth,
I read
But help me believe
And trust in You,
Even in the height of battle,
When the enemy is so near
And I am so weak.
Thank you thank you for every piece of your armour!
I claim the victory won by Jesus – for my life – now!
Amen – we pray together.

Midday

Pray God’s blessing on someone you know to meet with Jesus
Father God, hear our prayers and bless them real good we ask 

Evening

Reading : read this passage again from Ephesians 6

Reflect on verses 10-13 and pray in response to this God of warfare
LORD of Lords, hear our evening prayers.

Reading : 2 Corinthians 2 verses 5-11
Meditation :   take time and consider all that is taught in this passage.
What is God saying to you today?

then pray humbly in response – to the God of outrageous grace

(Pray your own words to the LORD God
In worship and thanks for what you have read,
In confession and need to be more like Jesus,
For yourself and for others.)
O LORD, receive our praise and hear our prayers.

Pray God’s blessing on those seeking to know Jesus at this time
Lord, hear our prayers we ask.

Evening

Reading : read the verses again

Reflect on verses 7 and 11
and Pray in response to this God of forgiveness
O Gracious LORD, hear our evening prayers

Pray to hear and receive from God, the Three in One

Reading : Romans 7 verses 7-25
Meditation : take time to consider these honest words of struggle – from Paul!
What is God saying to you from them?

Then humbly and honestly pray in response…to stand firm in Christ Jesus.
O LORD our God,
Powerful and eternal God,
God of hope beyond death,
Thank you for these words
And all they teach me.
May Jesus truly be the centre of my life
Today and every day.
Amen and amen!

Pray God’s blessing on places and vehicles showing Try Praying logos in our country
O LORD, hear our prayers

Evening

Reading : read verses 21-25 again

Reflect on the words read and then pray in response – praising God for Jesus!

Meditation : take time and consider what Paul was teaching here and what God is saying to you from these verses.

O Lord…bless them real good.

Reading : read verses 18-20 again

Reflect on what God has done in your life and what He wants to do and then pray to Him
Father God, hear my prayer.

Pray to hear and receive from the Living God

Reading : Matthew 4 verses 1-11
Meditation :  take time and consider how Jesus dealt with temptation

and then pray honestly in response
O LORD God,
I need your help
to be truly more like Jesus.
I choose to live to please You afresh this day….
In thought and word and action
By your Spirit’s enabling.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
