New Years Day Evening Prayer with Others

As we step into a new year – with God – together

We PAUSE with Him in prayer

We REJOICE in the blessings He has given this day

We ASK for His presence, peace and strength in 2022 – for ourselves and for others

We YIELD – say Yes – to His Kingdom ways in the days and months to come

Daily Devotions for Saturday 1st January, 2022

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : ROMANS chapter 1

Meditation : take time to consider these opening words of Paul’s letter to the Church in Rome.
What is God teaching/reminding you today?
What words stay with you?

And then Pray in response to what you read – to this God of ours.
Pray for God’s blessing today for yourself and for another in the Church family

In Jesus’ name
Amen and Amen!

Midday
Pray the Prayer for the Month as your own midday prayer

Thank you our God
For sending Jesus
The Good News
In our world

Thank you Jesus
That you came
From heaven to earth
As our Good News

Holy Spirit
Inspire us
Enable us
To share this Good News

In our street
In Liberton
In Scotland
In our world

In Jesus’ name
Amen and Amen.

Evening
Reading : read ROMANS chapter 1 again – in another version?
Reflect on this God, your God, our God…. and then Call on Him in your evening Prayer

LORD God, our God, receive our praise
For who You are
For your blessings given even today
And as we give it all back to you
May you continue to reach and save people
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done across our world
In our community, in our city.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Pause to Pray for Others

On this particular Friday…as the year draws to a close….as the nation and the world wrestles with the new variant and vaccine supplies…and other points of crisis and concern… you are invited to pause and continue to pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus – in our community, in our nation and in our world – and for parts of the world in turmoil at this time

For family and friends and neighbours

For all those who are anxious and grieving in our community

For NHS and Care Home staff across the nation

For our country and world leaders at this time
