A Call to Thursday Evening Prayer

As part of the Kirk’s rhythm of prayer and devotion we invite people to pause and pray each day.

We offer a Daily Devotions Bible reading each morning and a focus for midday prayer.

At this time in your Thursday you are invited to pause and pray as the day closes.

You may wish to revisit MATTHEW 25.31-46 and consider what Jesus said here.
You may need to name others before Father God.
You may want to be still with God as you look back on your day.

A Time to Pray with Others

At this time in your Thursday and in these changing times you are invited to pause and pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus

For family and friends and neighbours

For all who work in shops across our city

For NHS and Care Home staff in our city

For our country and our national leaders at this time of decision

Daily Devotions for Thursday December 10th, 2020

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Father God

Reading : MATTHEW 25 verses 31-46

Meditation : take time and carefully consider these words from Jesus.
The Final Judgment.
What do they mean to you?
What is God saying to you today from His Word today?

Then take time to pray in response to the LORD as your day starts

Pray your own words this morning to the LORD God……..

In Jesus’ name. Amen and Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those wrestling with medical ethics at this time
Lord, hear our prayers and bless each and all real good we ask.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in our world.

Evening
Reading : read these particular verses again from MATTHEW 25
Reflect on the words written here – and what God is saying to you now.
Pray in response to this God of a final judgment.

O LORD, hear our evening prayers as this day closes
As we pause to consider your Word afresh
As we humbly confess our sins
As we call out to you for mercy in these days
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Drive-in cancelled

Dear all

Sadly we have had to cancel Sunday evening due to the Tier 3 restrictions still in place for Edinburgh this week.

There is a Celtic Carols with Celtic Worship online on Saturday evening that I’m sure will be well worth logging in to.

The link for that is now on the Big Idea Facebook page.

Please pray on for other churches in Big Idea at this time….and look forward to the January online event on Sunday 3rd at 7pm!

Thanks for now
Alastair Cameron
